The one-week observation rites of Ghanaian Highlife musician, Kofi B, came off today at New Achimota de Temple inside Accra.

A lot of chiefs, high placed personalities in the society, and many popular celebrities, especially those in the music space are attended the observation.

Highlife singer, Ofori Amponsah, also referred to as ‘Mr All 4real’ also came to the grounds and in a video sighted by A2zgh was seen weeping uncontrollably.

The ace highlife musician had to be comforted by close pals and other mourners who were at the social centre.

He later took the stage to perform some of his hit songs to help dry the tears of the gathered mourners.

During his performance, he reacted to the claims that he cursed the late Kofi B, which he said he can’t kill a human being and rather saw him as his brother.

The ‘Mmobrowa’ singer according to colleague musician Kofi Nti, started complaining of chest pains and unusual heartbeat as he prepared to perform on Sunday evening.

A doctor at the hospital said Kofi B was sweating and vomiting when he was brought there.

The ‘Bantama Kofi Boakye’ hitmaker was restless with very high body temperature and an unusual blood pressure 150/120, the doctor said.

Since he had difficulty breathing, he was put on oxygen and given some injection but he died at 3 am on Sunday.

His body has been transported to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for storage and autopsy the doctor said.

The date for the final burial of the late highlife legend has been scheduled to happen on April 26, 2020, in Accra.

Kofi Boakye Yiadom died on February 2, 2020 known by his stage name Kofi B, was a Ghanaian highlife musician.

He was known for songs such as “Mmbrowa”, “Bantama Kofi Boakye” and “Koforidua Flowers”, among others.

He was inspired by the likes of Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah adn the late Opambuo.
