Defender for Asante Kotoko and Black Stars player Habib Mohammed has supported the idea of Black Stars general captain Asamoah Gyan joining Asante Kotoko.

The story of the 34-year-old joining Asante Kotoko has gained grounds in the media and with the former Black Stars captain promised to play for the club before retiring, has poured importance to the story of him being a Kotoko player.

Habib, 22, believes the club will need Gyan’s experience in their pursuit for Africa as they venture in the CAF Champions League.

The former Ashantigold SC defender stresses that the presence of the striker will whisker hopes of young footballers on the field to deliver the needed results.   “I will be very happy if I see Asamoah Gyan join Kotoko because he will help the team in terms of experience.

“The players will also be proud of playing with [former] Black Stars captain.”
