Following the shakeups from residents of Nkawkaw and Kwahuman on “No Stadium No Vote” demonstration, high profiled politicians have intervened to calm tempers of angry residents and sporting fans.
Pabbynewslivegh.com can confirm that, high ranking politicians and traditional leaders in Kwahu have been meeting concerning government’s plan on the stadium as initially planned but there have been changes in the previous idea.
According to sources, government, Sports Ministry, Middle Belt Development Authority, Green grass technology and other key stakeholders met and agreed on using Nkawkaw as one of the centres for the 2023 All African Games since Ghana holds the hosting right for the tournament.
Government now have a different thought to reconstruct a 50,000 capacity stadium for residents in Nkawkaw and Kwahuman instead of the initial 10, 000 , which the Sports Minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah had cut sod on the 4th of September , 2020 , however,work has been delayed for the commencement of work till now.
Kwahu Youth Association, Supporters of Okwawu United and residents in Nkawkaw and Kwahu have postponed the “No Stadium No Vote” demonstration until further notice.
