Eastern Region Division Two league top flight club New Tafo Susubiribi United SC have been renamed as Abuakwa Susubiribi FC ahead of the start of the 2020/21 football season.
In Ghana Football Association (GFA) letter send to the Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA), the governing body of football affirmed it’s approval of request by the club for a name change.
“We admitted a letter from New Tafo Susubiribi United dated 30th August, 2020 requesting for approval for change of their club’s name from New Tafo Susubiribi United to Abuakwa Susubiribi Football Club,” General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo stated in a signed letter addressed to Abuakwa Susubiribi FC.
“The GFA also acknowledges receipts of documents on the change of name to Abuakwa Susubiribi Football Club from the Registrar General’s Department attached to their request submitted to the GFA under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).
“Consequently, the GFA hereby approves the change of name from New Tafo Susubiribi United to Abuakwa Susubiribi Football Club.”
