President of Shallow FC and Former Ghana U20 player Abdul Ganiyu has described Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana’s package to Players and Technical Staff of the Ghana Under 20 team which won Afcon trophy in Mauritania as the best of it’s kind in Ghanaian Football.
President Nana Addo announced a whopping $10,000 package for each of the 27 players who played at the tournament and nine technical team members, amounting to $330,000 t when they paid a courtesy call on the President yesterday.
Each playing member is entitled to $5,000 in cash and an investment facility in the form of a bond worth $5,000 which will mature in 10 years’ time.
In an interview with General Manucho of GBC Sunrise Fm-Koforidua, The 2003 Ghana U20 player said, such initiative by the Government formed part of their commitment to develop sports and as well encourage talents to support the growth of football in the country.
“Government have been working hard to assist our sport partners through these challenging times, so this news is a huge boost for the Black Satellites after winning the Afcon trophy for the 4th time, despite the obstacles” he stated.
He noted that, the gaffer and his team focused on achieving their dreams and making the country proud at the pinnacle of African Sport.
