Rootz Sistaz FC defeated Kotoku Rush Ladies by two goals to nil in the finals of the Eastern Regional Football Association women’s gala to be crowned winners of the gala competition played at the All Nations University School park last weekend.
Teams honours the gala include Rootz Sistaz FC, Nick FC, Rangers Soccer Academy, Alpha Wolves FC, Valued Girls FC, as well as Kotoku Rush Academy. The tournament was organized by the Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA).
The much anticipated final match saw Rootz Sistaz FC score a goal in each half of the match to silence their opponents.
Prior to the finals, Rootz Sistaz FC defeated Alpha Wolves by two goals to one in the semifinals while ,Kotoku Rush Ladies after playing one all with Unick FC and won on penalties by four goals to three to book a final place.
The two days gala saw five female teams from the region participate for honours .
Rootz Sistaz for winning the gala competition received a trophy, cash prize of Gh 500 and a certificate while, Kotoku Rush Ladies also received a cash prize of Gh 300 and a certificate.
The best goalkeeper award went to Bertha Tuopare of Rootz Sistaz FC, while the most promising player went to Ayikpoe Enyonam of Kotoku Rush Ladies ,with the Golden boot going to Mariamah Oforiwaa of Rootz Sistaz FC and the Best Player award went to Adjeley Kpobi of Kotoku Rush Ladies.
The four players who won individual awards received a cash prize of Gh 100 and a certificate.
In attendance were the Chairman of the Eastern RFA Football Association, Linford Asamoah Boadu, Women’s League Committee Chairperson, Madam Victoria, Executive Council Member, Rev. Samuel Kotoka, ERFA General Secretary and Communication Team.
